  • Yes you can! Either visit the visitor centre and speak to a staff member or call us on 01324 590600.

  • The amount of tours operating depends on the time of year. The best way to check tour times is to call the Visitor Centre on 01324 590600.

    We endeavour to make sure all tours operate at these times but on occasion there are tours which will not operate at these times.

    The best way to ensure you get the time you want is to book online.

  • Yes. The Tour is at ground level and there is access to all parts of the Tour for wheelchair users. The walking distance from The Kelpies car park to The Kelpies is approximately 300 metres. The walking tour is approximately 30 minutes long. The Kelpies Tour is wheelchair-friendly. Wheelchair use is available for tour guests if required.

    From Edinburgh: Take the M9 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 5 for Falkirk and follow the A9 to Etna Road Roundabout.

    From Glasgow: Take the M80 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 8 for M876 and join M9, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk. Follow the signs to the A9. Turn right at Westfield Roundabout to Etna Road Roundabout.

    From Carlisle and the South: M74, M73, M80, M876, M9 and follow the signs for Falkirk as above.

    From Perth and the North: A9, M9 towards Edinburgh, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk as above.


    From Edinburgh to Falkirk High (25 minutes) or Falkirk Grahamston (35 minutes)

    From Glasgow Queen Street to Falkirk High (20 minutes) or Falkirk Grahamston (50 minutes)

    From Stirling to Falkirk Grahamston (15 minutes)

    From London direct to Falkirk Grahamston (5 hours) or change at Edinburgh/Glasgow. There are also services to Polmont Station, Larbert Station and Camelon Station.

  • Helix Car Park

    You can park for free in the Helix Car Park which is the first car park you will see on entry to the park. This can hold 78 cars which includes 5 Blue Badge spaces. 

    Kelpies Car Park

    You can park in the Kelpies Car Park which is the closest car park to the Visitor Centre and Kelpies. There are 3 Blue Badge spaces in this car park. In the peak season from 1st April there is a charge to use this car park. There is no charge for users with a valid Blue Badge. Please see charges below:

    Charges apply 10.00am to 5.00pm daily from 1st April. 
    (no charges apply outwith these hours, car park access is 24/7).

    Visitor Centre - Blue Badge Car Park

    There are 7 Blue Badge spaces available at the Visiror Centre. To access these spaces please drive to the barrier adjacent to the Kelpies Car Park and press the intercom for the Visitor Centre. A member of staff will provide access through barrier. PLEASE NOTE: these spaces are only available from 9.30am to 5.00pm. 

    Falkirk Stadium Car Parking

    The car parks for Helix park and The Kelpies fill up early in the morning during nice weather and holidays, so to avoid long delays we recommend you park at Falkirk Stadium for free and enjoy the short walk through The Helix to the Kelpies.



  • We advise that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour and report to The Visitor Centre at The Helix. Please take into consideration there is a short walk from the car park to Visitor Centre.

  • The Tour will take place outside; even the inside of The Kelpies are exposed to the outside conditions and this should be taken into account when deciding upon suitable clothing.

    It is nice and warm inside the visitor centre where you can get a hot drink, slice of cake and the best views of The Kelpies.

  • The Visitor Centre at The Helix has a cafe selling hot food, home baking and refreshments. 

    The Plaza Cafe in Helix Park (towrads Falkirk Stadium) also sells sandwiches, beverages and other quick bites. The Plaza Cafe is open from 10:00-17:00, March-October.

  • There are toilets available at the Visitor Centre and Plaza Cafe.

  • No. Access to The Kelpies is freely available 24/7, 365 days a year except in special circumstances. The Kelpies are lit up with LED lights an hour after sun down every night. The light-up time changes throughout the year with the weather and season.
