Park disruption on the 5th of July 2017

Due to the Opening of the Queen Elizabeth II Canal by her Majesty the Queen on the 5th of July 2017, access to the onsite car parks, the Kelpies Plaza and the visitor centre will be restricted from Tuesday 4th July 2017 9pm. Please be aware that the Kelpies Plaza will NOT be accessible during the night of the 4th July.

On the 5th of July, onsite car parks will remain closed until 1pm. The Visitor Centre will be closed until 2.30pm. The park will only be accessible to pedestrians with access limited around the Kelpies.

The car park at Falkirk Stadium will be open as usual but will be very busy. We advise visitors to use public transport or walk/cycle to the park where possible. If the stadium car park is full, you can park at the Forth Valley College car park as well.

A shuttle bus accessible to wheel chair will be available from Falkirk Stadium to the main Kelpie Car Park. This service is open to blue badge holders and those over the age of 65 years on a first-come first-served basis between 9:30am and 10:30am on 5th July. The bus will then be available from 12:15pm at the pink bus stop for the return trip to Falkirk Stadium. Blue badge holders may be accompanied by 1 carer.

Note to those who use the pathways within the park as a commuter  route; there will be no access through the Kelpies plaza from the 4th of July from 9pm until approximately 1pm on 5th July. Please see onsite signage for further information.

If you are joining the event, please wear waterproof clothes and shoes as the site is very wet and it will be raining on the day !
